Deadicated...
The other day they waited
The sky was dark and faded
Solemnly they stated
He has to die
And all the children learning
From books that they were burning
Every leaf was turning
To watch him die
The summer sun looked down on him
His mother could but frown on him
And all the others sound on him
But it doesn't seem to matter
And when the day had ended
With rainbow colours blended
His mind remained unbended
He had to die
You know he had to die...
Here, Moe. is doing Cryptical Envelopment>the Other One
(for puritans this is just that's it for the other one :)). Whatever, the Other One is smokin' :D

Thanks. There's nothing like a rocking TOO jam to start the day with.
gift, these lyrics always make me sad. :(

I think there is enough ambiguity in the lyrics to suggest that the poet might be describing a metaphysical death rather than a physical one. To the dying, this death of the ego (rainbow colors blended) is welcome, almost willed (his mind remained unbended), but to those who thought they knew him (his mother could but frown), the envelopment is at best cryptical.
v, i meant it metaphysically alright. like you say there is enough ambiguity in the lyrics...:). but i like your interpretation because it doesnt make me sad.
@VB,K- and this is a Garcia lyrics! I feel the *cryptic* word says it all..the envelope is present; but not very clear in nature..which is true always..
a lighter note, after *he had to die* the spanish lady comes for the other one! TOO is so so unique..creates such a tensed unrest atmsphr..amazin'!!
