Light n Soul

Just when the sun shelves in the shack for the evening snack I come out of my tiny hostel room to the veranda with a cup of warm tea. Consecutive rooms marching the corridors, one by one blue light shines on in a marching order from the top ventilator, every evening, same pattern of a time series. The fluorescents shine with same colors but recount different stories. Light narrates about us and them. Different faces in the rooms, million stories to be shared and not to. A fascinating amalgam of resemblance and contrasts.

So many things happened since those best freshman days, so many shores and coasts visited in all aspects of learning and distrusts. We really hate to learn to be still.

This shining nostalgic trip reminds me of the song Soulshine of Gov’t Mule. I was searching for any live rendition (chiefly with slide guru Derek Trucks) but this studio version is also very pleasant. Shine on with Warren Haynes.

Let your soul shine
It’s better than sunshine
It’s better than moonshine
Damn sure better than rain...

"million stories to be shared and not to"

Was reading this again, and found myself smiling at this.....What all are we hiding, under the covers? Perhaps we do not want to be still because we do not want to turn the covers.

One can let one's soul shine only if one remains always in love - and then the soul shall shine through eternity - nice thoughts on your post and the thoughts in the translation of the Bengali song are so so nostalgia provoking ...
Thanks
Deepak
